Beer Under The Stars

Beer Under The Stars

Given the weather currently battering the East Coast, the chances of enjoying beer in the great outdoors might seem somewhat limited. But if you’re in Sydney and find a gap in the clouds, the roof terrace at The Local Taphouse in Darlinghurst is in full swing now. As mentioned on The Crafty Pint last month, the terrace opened in time for Christmas and, if the latest photos from the bar’s Flickr account are anything to go by, it’s looking pretty schmick.

Co-owner Steve Jeffares says: “It’s currently open seven days a week from midday until 10pm and has a bar offering 20 different beers on tap, with 200 different beers a year.” There’s also food on offer.

If you missed last Friday’s newsletter, you’ll have missed the news that the terrace at True South Brewery in Black Rock is also open for summer. If you’re keen to enjoy Sam Fí¼ss’s fine beers with a glorious view of Port Phillip Bay, the upstairs is open to the public from 5pm on Fridays and midday on weekends.
