Newstead Is After A Packaging Nutcase

Posted May 8, 2018

This posting is more than 1 year old

Since opening its doors in 2013, Newstead has steadily spread its very many beers across Brisbane, added a second, much larger brewery facility and set out on a mission to conquer the rest of its home state.

Right now, to help them do just that, they're looking for a new team member to work on the packaging line; a packaging nutcase, if you will.

JOB DESCRIPTION: PACKAGING NUTCASE

Newstead Brewing Co. began life in 2013 in an old bus depot around the back end of Newstead. We quickly outgrew the original brew pub, which remains our spiritual home and source of experimentation and special batches. Early 2017 saw the unveiling of our second brewery, across town in Milton. As well as increasing our capacity to 15,000hL p.a, an 80 can-per-minute packaging line was installed, allowing a shift to in-house packaging and fresher beer.

We have a strong focus on quality and community, two aspects that are central to our operation. If you relish working in a creative, fast paced and expansive environment we invite you to apply for the position of Packaging Nutcase, based at our Milton site, where you will be trained to operate our Cask ASC-X2 canning line.

This is an exciting opportunity for an eager worker without any commercial experience to learn, develop and grow in one of Brisbane’s premier microbreweries.

The job:

  • Packaging, packaging and packaging
  • Packaging
  • Running the packaging line
  • Rotational selection of warehouse music
  • Putting beer into cans, and subsequently those cans into cartons
  • Sometimes, packaging.

Requirements

Necessary:

  • Proven ability for hard work, working as a team and following directions
  • Current, Queensland, High Risk Work accreditation for Forklift operation, or ability to attain such a licence
  • Flexible work hours
  • An interest in brewing operations and desire to learn all aspects of beer manufacture.

Advantageous:

  • A background in engineering or process management
  • Brewing qualifications or experience.
