As part of its 125th anniversary celebrations, the North Shore Council approached the Flat Rock Brew Cafe - the Lower North Shore's only brewery - to create a celebratory beer.
After a big tasting session between council members and local residents to decide on what style of beer to brew, they settled on a fruity and aromatic pale ale with a difference, with brewer Vince de Soyres adding a heap of citrus fruit and mangoes to it.
The beer, named 1890 Pale Ale, is all ready, tasting good and will hit a small number of venues and events around the Lower North Shore from July 1st. If you want a taste, the venues pouring the beer throughout the month are below, along with dates when you can come and meet the brewer:
- Kirribilli Hotel - Thursday 2 July, 6pm
- Flat Rock Brew Cafe - Friday 10 July, 6pm
- The Oaks - Friday 17 July, 6pm
