They do a bang-up job of supporting and showcasing local breweries do the team at Annandale's Empire Hotel, and one of the most popular ways they do it is through the Saturday Beer Club.
This monthly meeting of minds has a local brewer or three along for a casual and leisurely afternoon of tasting and talk about beer – or whatever else you might want to chat with a brewer about.
The November meet-up will feature two of Sydney's newest breweries, Akasha from Five Dock and Shark Island from The Shire, with brewers from each along for a bit of a session.
It's happening on Saturday November 28, between 3-5pm. It'll cost you $25 which gets you two tasting paddles – one for each brewery – and you can book a spot by contacting the venue, the details of which can be found here.
