High Country Hops 2016

After a successful inaugural festival in 2015, Bridge Road Brewers is bringing its High Country Hops festival back again this March.

Timed to coincide with the hop harvest taking place at nearby Rostrevor Hop Farm, it sees the brewers of the High Country come together in Beechworth for a family friendly day of beer sampling, local produce, music and entertainment.

There will also be guided tours of the farm for those keen to get up close and personal with the wonderful plant that is humulus lupulus.

The brewers in attendance will be pouring special harvest beers alongside others from their lineup and will all be on hand to chat to guests. There on the day will be:

  • Bridge Road Brewers
  • Bright Brewery
  • Black Dog Brewery
  • Sweetwater
  • Rutherglen Brewery

Providing the tunes will be local artist Liv Cartledge, with kids entertained by Trixie the Clown and a jumping castle. There will even be the chance to try your hand at archery; beer and weapons, what could possibly go wrong?

Hop Products Australia are again supporting the event with a hop knowledge stand at the event explaining what hops are and how they are grown and processed. Among the producers will be Milawa Cheese and Gundowring Ice Cream.

Melburnians who fancy making the trek without driving can jump aboard The Gertrude Hotel bus. Call them on (03) 9419 2823 for more info.

To reserve a spot on the hop farm tours (which cost $20pp), call Bridge Road on (03) 5728 2703.
