Only open a few months but already a central part of the neighbourhood, Wayward is hosting its first Laneway Festival on the weekend of March 12-13, 2016.
The idea is for it to become an annual celebration of community, art, music and beer and this inaugural event will centre around artwork in Gehrig Lane on which the brewery is located.
On Saturday the lane will be closed off to traffic so the artists can run amok on the brick walls while the rest of the is filled with food trucks and the sweet sound of music. The art will extend into the walls of the brewery too where local artists will be displaying their work, all of which you can admire with a few beers in hand.
On the Sunday there's a full lineup of live musicians, as follows:
- 12pm – Tenderfoot
- 1pm – Jamie Lindsay
- 2pm – Crystal Cities
- 3pm – John Dixon
- 4pm – Craig Woodward
- 5pm – Hannah Robinson
- 6pm – Hannah Brewer
Food and beer will be available from midday on both days, with the brewery operating special festival hours.
