Murray's Dark Beer Month 2016

Each winter Murray’s releases a swathe of dark beers, usually a couple of old favourites plus something new they’ve conjured up. This year they’ve gone far bigger and harder than ever before, lining up a veritable torrent of eight dark beers, ranging from imperial stout to chocolate porter to the highly unusual dark gose. They’ll be hitting bottles and taps at the brewery from the beginning of June, followed by good beer bars and bottleshops, as follows:

  • Wild Thing Imperial Stout – June 4
  • Fly By Night Schwartzbier – June 4
  • Hey Porter Chocolate Porter – June 4
  • Wild Thing Coffee Imperial Stout – June 11
  • Hell of the North Strong Belgian Dark Ale – June 11
  • Angry Man Brown Ale – June 11
  • Dark Horse Dark ESB – June 18
  • Sebastian Dark Gose – June 25

The brewery itself will hold live concerts each weekend in June to coincide with the various releases, headlined by the Mark Wells Band on Queens Birthday weekend. As is usually the case, the chefs will have a special menu going to accompany the new beers (definitely worth noting if you’re the type that’s partial to a kilogram of dark beer marinated ribs).

Murray’s has offered a case of the new Wild Thing Coffee Imperial Stout to a lucky Crafty Pint reader. We’ll be giving it away in the June 3 newsletter – subscribe here if you haven’t already.
