Looking for a way to get your start in the brewing industry and willing to get your hands dirty? KAIJU! Beer in Melbourne's southeast is looking for someone to assist with packaging and cellaring at their Dandenong South brewing site.

South East Brewing Company started as a gypsy brewer in 2012 and now operates from our brand-new, state of the art brewery (affectionately known as #dandysouthmassive) in Dandenong South. We are 100% family-owned. 

Our two own brands are KAIJU! Beer and Golden Axe Cider, while the brewery is also home to Exit Brewing, and produces beer for BrewCult, West City, Newstead and others. Our focus on quality is exemplified by the considerable number of awards and accolades we have won during the last four years. 

With recent additions to the brewery's production capacity, we are currently seeking a safety and quality focussed Packaging and Cellar Operations Jaeger to assist the brewing team as we increase our volume.

Job Description
Working under the direction of the brewers, this position is ideally suited to a team player with a passion for awesome craft beer, fastidious attention to detail and aspirations to be part of a dynamic brewing team.  While no prior commercial experience is required, we do require that you have some knowledge of the brewing process.  Any commercial experience would be highly regarded.

This will be a part/full time role and hours will vary in accordance with the production plan.  Expect early starts and/or late finishes.

Daily Duties Include:
- Cleaning tanks, kegs, bottle filler, the floor and the brewery with an unhealthy level of enthusiasm.
- Managing upcoming packaging requirements according to the production plan.
- Set of up the packaging line inclusive of bottling and kegging.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the packaging line.
- Cleaning and maintenance of packaging line according to the maintenance plan.
- Monitoring batch progress through measurement and recording of key quality data such as: temperature, gravity, pH, carbonation and dissolved oxygen.
- Collecting lab samples according to the quality plan.
- Transfer of product from fermentation vessels to bright beer tanks.
- Receiving of goods in and loading of goods out.
- Sensory analysis of unfinished and finished beer.

Minimum Requirements
- Computer literate including word processing and spreadsheets.
- Safety and quality focused attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Keen interest in brewing and the brewing process.

Desirable Qualities
- Commercial brewing experience
- In-line labelling and packaging experience
- Valid Forklift Ticket
- Formal Brewing Education
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
