The average lifespan of any business is surprisingly short, so when one makes it to a decade it's a milestone worth celebrating. And in the case of Green Beacon, they plan to make the party last a whole year.
Throughout 2023 they'll be releasing 10 birthday beers, with the first four having snuck out of the tanks on Australia Day.
Three of them – Mr Sparkle Aussie Pale Ale, Cannonball India Pale Lager and the POG (Passionfruit, Orange & Guava) IPA – will be pouring at a big bash at Brisbane's iconic live music venue The Tivoli on February 18.
There'll be a full lineup of live music from 3pm with DJ Cutloose, blues and funk band HAM, indie pop-rockers Cheap Date, alt-rock trio Selfish Sons and the headlining favourites Beddy Rays. Add in food trucks, an outdoor can bar, merch and prizes, and that's a damn fine day out.
You can book tickets to the gig here.
The fourth beer – a whopping ten percent ABV triple IPA called 'Journey X' – is only pouring at the Green Beacon brewery and a handful of other retailers. The remaining limited-release beers will come out over the next ten months and will mostly involve new twists on past releases and reimagined favourites.
