For well over a decade, Deco has been one of Melbourne's hidden gems, a bar specialising in the best of all boozes in a quiet and unobtrusive manner in the heart of Fitzroy North.
It's been doing what it does under the stewardship of Steve Marmo, a host with an appreciation for the best of all boozes that has allowed him to curate a fine lineup of beers, wine, whiskies – you name it – over the years and create a subtly decadent ambience.
And now, after all these years, he's decided to hang up his waistcoat.
Deco's final night celebrating the finer things in life is March 28 so if you've ever enjoyed an evening there and would like to raise a final glass with Steve (most likely Lagavulin in his case) then the next few days is the time.
The Saturday night lineup features live music from the Basics plus DJs, supper and special guests. It runs from 8pm to 1am with a $20 cover charge (for the post-Deco holiday fund, apparently!).
