In 2015 Mitch Steele, the now-former but then current brewmaster at America's iconic Stone Brewing, spent a few of days loitering around the Nomad Brewery in Brookvale and collaborated on a beer, Air-Rye-Evil. A year later, Stone's legendary Steve Wagner made the same trip and also collaborated on a beer and it is that which is set to be released this Saturday.
It is a Black Rye IPA called So-Cal-Iente and it will be pouring amidst a day of US/AUS celebratory relations at the brewery.
On the menu for the day will food, beer and blues with a specially made mudcake and chilli & orange lamingtons from Luscious – and which have been made using the beer – pulled pork rolls from Millins Fine Butcher, foot-stomping tunes from The Moon Hounds and, of course, the first tapping of So-Cal-iente.
Get there from midday to join in the revelry.
