The Tallboy and Moose brewpub in Preston has become a thriving venue for locals and anyone from further afield keen to try an ever-changing lineup of freshly brewed beers.
If you want to help keep that brewpub running smoothly, the team is hiring an assistant venue manager.
Job Description: Assistant Venue Manager
Tallboy and Moose are on the hunt for a full time Assistant Venue Manager to join the team!
We are a small craft brewpub located in Preston with a strong focus on presenting a constantly changing and intriguing tap list as well as pumping out our two core beers with consistency and lurv. We have strong ties with our local community and WE LOVE OUR BEERS so it’s important that you have a keen interest and strong knowledge of yeasty froths too.
A passion for beer is key as well as all things boozey as we also have a small range of wines, spirits and cocktails for the punter not so keen on beers. We spend a lot of time and effort picking out the right products so everyone is catered for. While we are obviously very beer focused, we are also bar and want everyone to feel comfortable.
Speaking of comfortable, while we know our beers, WE ARE NOT PRETENTIOUS about them. It is imperative that customers who may not know a lot about beer are comfortable asking questions and aren’t made to feel silly or dumb. People with a bit of an attitude towards what might be considered a “dumb question” need not apply. Beer is supposed to be fun!
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing venues, staff, wage costs, stock management, have one year experience in the same or similar role (duty manager for example would be acceptable) and a strong understanding and passion for customer service. We are looking for someone with a good sense of initiative, ability and eagerness to learn quickly and impart information, creative thinking and most of all, a pleasant and fun personality that translates to our staff and transfers to our amazing customers. We have a very small team that are amazing and easy to manage. We have a lot of fun!
You will be working very closely with the venue manager ensuring the venue operates as smoothly as possible with a strong emphasis on staff training, venue presentation, customer service, stock management, event and function set up and end of night cash handling.
