JOB DESCRIPTION: BREWER
Boatrocker Brewing Co, an independent and family run brewery in Melbourne’s southeast, has been constantly striving to make excellent and delicious beer since 2009. As operators of Australia’s first and largest barrel room, we have been constantly innovating and exploring flavours old and new, as well as producing a range of well crafted core beers. We are growing, and require a full time brewer to join the existing team.
Position Requirements:
We need an energetic, hard working self-starter, who has a passion for craft beer. You must be a team player.
It is a hands on role requiring you to carry out a range of duties.
These include, but are not limited to, the following:
Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. From tanks, to brewhouse, to brewery floor, to packaging area and beyond
Operate brewing and packaging equipment according to SOP’s
Conduct quality control activities, making sure our beers are within specification
An ability to complete paperwork according to brewery requirements
Conduct basic lab analysis of beer, yeast etc. according to brewery requirements
The ideal applicant will have commercial brewing experience
You must have the ability to work unsupervised and to be able to complete tasks on time
Formal brewing qualifications are looked upon favourably
You must be able to learn, be willing to learn, and take on new skills
You need to be practically minded, have the ability to be mechanically inclined, and be able to follow and understand SOP’s
A passion for craft beer is essential
You must have your own transport
