Since opening in 2016, Tallboy and Moose have been putting local beer firmly into the hands of the ever-growing hordes that walk through the brewpub doors. To help keep them maintain this noble practice, they're on the hunt for a new venue manager. 

Here’s what you need to know about the role.

JOB DESCRIPTION: VENUE MANAGER

Tallboy and Moose is a small independent brewery, bar and venue space based in Preston. We operate from Wednesday to Sunday as a bar, as well as private function spaces and offsite events. To help this fledgling business fly, we have an amazing opportunity for an experienced venue and events guru to join our team.

To be successful in this role, you must be an awesome multitasker with a “hells yeah” attitude. You’ll be happy chipping in on anything and everything and have a killer head for business. Our numero uno candidate will be a grade-A specimen, with heaps of fun and positive vibes. They’ll lead our team from the front and deliver a range of kick ass shindigs throughout the weeks, months and years.

The role:

  • The efficient day to day running of the venue
  • Driving the customer service experience from the floor
  • Coordination and finding of bookings & functions, an effective liaison with clients
  • Adherence reporting to compliance and legislative matters
  • Staff training & management
  • Managing the venue budget/pricing structures
  • Metrics/Inventory/P&L reporting
  • Managing the venue drinks program
  • Inventory control and monitoring all stock movement
  • Event conception, coordination and delivery
  • Venue upkeep
  • Special projects management

The ideal candidate, should show the following skill set:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • A positive, friendly and fun manner
  • Strong business skills and ability to think outside the circle
  • Proven customer service record
  • Ability and enthusiasm to learn new skills

To fulfil the role, the successful candidate will also have:

  • Responsible service of alcohol certificate
  • Experience managing private functions
  • Creative approach to innovative events
  • A keen interest in craft beer
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Sound knowledge of computer systems (H&L)
