How is it that the shortest day can also be the biggest? Well, it's Solstice and it's Bacchus, and that means a lot of dark beer. Like, a lot.
In all, 20 taps of the dark and delicious stuff – from the brand new to old favourites – will be pouring at the Capalaba brewery over the weekend of June 18 and 19. And, in a neat twist, all of them will be pouring on nitro for that extra smoooooth feel.
The bulk of the festivities will be taking place on the Saturday across two sessions (midday to 4pm then 4.30pm to 8.30pm), with the Sunday having more of a "catch-up on what you missed" or "re-try your favourites" vibe. Bookings can be made for as long or short as you like – they just need to be within the four hour session windows.
The Salt Food Truck will be parked up and dishing out flame-grilled burgers, while the Bacchus kitchen will be serving up its own beer-friendly grub – think along the lines of sticky ribs marinated in dark beer and you're in the right zone.
