Through the flooding, pandemics, financial turmoil, baffling legislation, and all the hypes, fads and trends, the team Newstead has managed to plot a course through the tumult, with the brewery now on the verge on celebrating a major milestone.
Yes, on December 7, the Brisbane institution (can we call them that now?) will be marking their tenth birthday, and they'd absolutely love you to come and celebrate with them.
Doors open at 10am and they'll be celebrating throughout the day with a "10 things we love about Newstead" theme that will include hot wings competitions, yard games, giveaways, Newstead Bingo, limited release merch, industry discounts and more.
And having brewed 278(ish) different beers, equating to five million(ish) litres, they're adding one more special to the list in the form of a barrel-aged barleywine. Given we all know nothing says: "It's Thursday!" like a lunchtime barleywine, the new beer will be tapped at midday, with a tiny number of cans also available for takeaway.
