Hargreaves Hill turns 10

There have been a few significant milestones in the Victorian craft beer world lately: Mountain Goat turned 17, Holgate turned 15 and now, joining them at the birthday table, the Yarra Valley's Hargreaves Hill Brewing Company is about to turn 10.

But such an anniversary wasn't always such a sure thing. In 2009, the brewery was destroyed in the Black Saturday bush fires before literally rising again barely six months later.

To celebrate and remember the past decade - both the ups and the downs - they're having a party.

On Sunday 7th December they'll be launching bottles and tapping a keg of the 2014 Phoenix Imperial Red Ale and dispensing tasters to partygoers for free. Alongside that, they'll be releasing the 2013 vintage of the always-glorious and much sought after Russian Imperial Stout. To accompany these, there'll be RIS slow-braised pies and Phoenix ice cream available. And if that's still not enough, the award-winning Abbey Dubbel will also be available on tap.

It's all happening at the restaurant/cellar door in Yarra Glen, with the Phoenix keg being tapped at 3pm sharp.
