There's little doubt that Boatrocker is one of the Aussie breweries of the moment. The Braeside brewery has been releasing various aged and blended treats from its Barrel Room, has the first epic-sounding Ramjet Day coming up and just took out the People's Choice award at the Good Beer Week Gala Showcase for the fourth straight year for a fruity Flanders Red.
If you missed the Gala, the beer that took top honours there will be one of four pouring at a Masterclass and Tap Takeover event at Richmond's Slowbeer.
Unfortunately (unless you already have tickets) the Masterclass has already sold out, but the accompanying Tap Takeover will be on for all and sundry. It starts on Thursday April 7 and will go until the kegs run dry. The beers on offer will be:
- Flanders Red – aged in oak for twelve months with raspberries and cherries
- Berliner Weisse – aged in French oak
- Blended Sour – one and two year old sour with six month old tart saison
- One Year Old Sour – selected from a single barrel
