An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Brewer to join our team, reporting to the Head of Brewing Operations, this is a key position within the business that is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Production facility in Vasse, Western Australia

The Role
The Senior Brewer role is a leadership role, responsible for the day-to-day operation of the brewery located in Vasse, Western Australia.
It is the job of the Senior brewer to communicate the state of production and/or the issues faced in the brewery to the Head of Brewing Operations and to then ensure the direction communicated from the Head of brewing Operations is followed by the staff in the brewery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the floor in order to facilitate the production schedule with the resources available.
- Set the example of work ethic and culture as a senior member of the brewing team.
- Keep in constant contact with the Head of brewing Operations to report on the state of production and equipment
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Ensure brewers and visitors to the brewery are always supplied and wearing appropriate PPE
- Roster team appropriately to ensure the production schedule can be achieved.
- Operate brewery as one of the production team, covering the responsibilities listed in the brewer & assistant brewer role as required, but allowing time to be assessing the work of others to ensure we meet the appropriate standards.
- Manage stocks of brewing material. Order where required from relevant suppliers & contracts that are set out by the Head of Brewing Operations.
- Coordinate spent grain bin collection with the farmers to ensure we always have bins available.
- Coordinate yeast management with the Head of Brewing Operations
- Check ferments daily, looking for specification deviations, trends or potential delays.
- Spot checks on brewhouse operation, Beer 30, batch logs, filtration records, etc to ensure they are being filled out properly, and that deviations to the recipes are being reported.
- Ensure sampling plan is being followed by the team, to ensure all quality sampling is conducted and within specification.
- Coordinate the release approval of finished beer through collating and assessing lab and sensory results.
- Train the Brewers & Assistant Brewers in the Vasse Brewery.
Reporting and Performance:
This role will report to the Head of Brewing Operations and performance will be monitored against the responsibilities listed above.
