Wayward Brewing's taproom sits in the heart of the craft beer paradise that is Sydney's inner west.

If you'd like to oversee the running of the unique venue, they want to hear from you.

Job Description: Venue Manager

Could this be the best job in hospitality?

Are you up to the challenge of helping to run one of the most awarded brewery taprooms in the inner west's "Capital of Craft Brewing"?

Wayward Brewing Co in Camperdown has won a staggering number of awards including winning best NSW brewery taproom four times in the Beer Cartel annual craft beer survey.

We’re looking for a top notch venue operator to join the taproom management team and help us continue to deliver great experiences to our loyal customers. This role is perfect for someone who is looking to step up into a real leadership role that encompasses not only the day-to-day operation of the taproom but also the marketing, promotion and full responsibility for delivering a world-class taproom experience. As an added bonus, the taproom has reasonable operating hours - no more 2am closes!  Yes, it is possible to work in hospitality and still have a life!

Wayward is a fiercely independent brewery, crafting award-winning beer and hard seltzer in Sydney’s Inner West. As a close-knit team we love working (and socialising) together to create high quality beverages that are enjoyed by millions of Australians and distributed to thousands of bottle shops and venues across the country.

We pride ourselves on having a friendly, inclusive, and relaxed taproom that offers customers a great craft brewery experience.

The successful applicant will not only be an experienced hospitality operator with a passion for customer service but will also bring to the table an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to contribute to the success of Wayward through marketing, promotion and executing events.

Essential requirements and key job roles:

  • Experience in venue management
  • Management of the guest experience and continually looking for opportunities to improve
  • Work with the existing taproom team to ensure that the culture of the taproom lives and breathes our passion for great customer service, a friendly atmosphere and a love of beer
  • Staff management, including rostering, costing, recruitment and coaching
  • Management of our web store and merchandising
  • Contribute to a culture of care and safety in the taproom for both team and guests
  • An eye for detail, ensuring venue presentation is always at a high standard
  • A business mindset that is always thinking of new ways to engage with the community to generate trade for the taproom and to keep our loyal customers coming back
  • Participating as a member of the senior management team in business planning

Competitive salary offered with potential for bonuses for reaching sales targets and of course, lots of delicious craft beer.
