Job Description: Mechanical Fitter
Moon Dog is a fast-growing alcoholic drinks and hospitality company. We’re Australia’s largest independently owned alcoholic seltzer brand (Moon Dog Fizzer), we’ve got three pumping venues in Preston (Moon Dog World), Footscray (Moon Dog Wild West) and Abbotsford (Moon Dog OG), we're one of Victoria’s largest independent craft beer brands, and with two more venues opening in 2024, the future is looking very bright!
Based at our production brewery in Preston, we are looking for a mechanical fitter with experience in the food and beverage industry to join our tight knit production team. Your main responsibilities will be to keep our machines humming along so we can continue making our award-winning mix of beer and seltzers.
The role is full-time, across day shifts Monday - Friday
Tasks and responsibilities of the role:
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance of packaging and brewing equipment
- Maintain workshop equipment
- Participate in efficiency and quality improvement projects
- Participate and lead problem solving
- Maintaining a safe work environment including the use of correct PPE and pre-task risk assessments
- Staff training
- Ad-hoc maintenance duties in the wider business
The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications & experience:
- Trade qualified fitter
- Packaging industry experience (3 years minimum)
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving and root cause analysis
- Ability to work autonomously
- Solid background in mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- General fabrication skills
- Stainless steel tig-welding experience is highly regarded
- Well-developed communication skills
- Execution of quality, efficiency and health and safety improvements
- Forklift licence
