Mornington Peninsula Brewery is one of Australia’s larger independent breweries and has built a reputation around a popular core range and lengthy lineup of limited releases. To help ensure those beers are maintained in tip top condition, the brewery is looking for a new cellar worker.

JOB DESCRIPTION: CELLAR WORKER

The primary role of the Cellar Worker is to support the production needs of the Mornington Peninsula Brewery and help push to achieve its objective of becoming one of Australia’s top independent breweries.

This is a full-time position and the successful applicant will report directly to the Operations Manager.

  • Cellaring Tasks
  • Centrifuge Operation
  • Packaging Activities
  • Maintenance Activities
  • Warehouse Operations
  • Quality Assurance

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Required:
    • Forklift Qualified
    • Computer Literate
    • Able to regularly lift 25kg
  • Desirable:
    • Prior production Experience
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Aptitude for technical and mechanical work
    • Desire to learn and capable of problem solving
    • Able to work independently and during non-traditional work hours
    • Strict adherence to OH&S standards

SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

Overview of Main Duties:

  • Strict Cellaring Tasks:
    • Clean floors and drains
    • CIP and sanitize FVs and BBTs
    • Maintain neat and tidy organisation of all parts and tools
    • Complete appropriate paperwork and recordkeeping
  • Centrifuge Operation:
    • CIP and sanitize centrifuge
    • Set-up and break-down lines
    • Operation of centrifuge
    • Take necessary samples and run diagnostic tests during operation
    • Complete appropriate paperwork and recordkeeping
  • Packaging Activities:
    • Clean and organise packaging area
    • Wash and fill kegs
    • Wash and fill kegs
    • Operate canning line 
    • Operate bottling line 
    •  Complete appropriate paperwork and recordkeeping
  • Maintenance Activities:
    • Regularly clean and perform maintenance of all facility equipment
    • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
    • Complete appropriate paperwork and recordkeeping
  • Warehouse Operations:
    • Clean and organise inventory
    • Operate a forklift including loading and unloading of trucks under deadlines
    • Conduct regular checks of inventory 
    • Complete appropriate paperwork and recordkeeping
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Maintain an exceptional level of cleanliness in all tasks
    • Follow SOPs and use appropriate technique to collect samples throughout the brewing and packaging process 
    • Complete appropriate paperwork and record keeping
