For their first year of operation, this core pale wasn’t called Daybreak. It was called NAME THIS PALE ALE; since Future Magic is part of a community, they wanted their fans to have a say in the name of one of their beers. The ideas poured in, and Daybreak won the day.
Daybreak underwent plenty of trials in the recipe development stage to get where it is, and the result is this tasty fridge filler showing off US hop darlings Citra and Mosaic.
The first whiff is like the moment you peel the lid off a tin of fruit salad, alongside the soft spongey pineapple lollies you’ve managed to sneak past mum and dad. The malt character is light and dry, just hinting at toffee and earthiness while you enjoy the hops.
Owner and head brewer Sean says, “It’s the only beer I’ve bought a corny keg of to take home and have on tap at home.”
He just can’t get enough of the stuff.
