Sailors Grave's mission to transplant the terminology of the US craft beer scene onto their slice of Paradise in East Gippsland continues apace with another "Cape" release. Given the West Cape IPA and pilsner were effectively West Coast IPA and West Coast pilsner respectively, I'm afraid the prize pool is rather empty for anyone wanting to hazard a guess as to what the East Cape IPA might be – even if it didn't have "Hazy" in its title.
Pale, densely hazy, and emitting lemon meringue like aromas – not like those of their famed cream sour but more of the sherberty, sharply citrusy sort – with a layer of juicy pineapple waiting to be noticed. Texturally, the grains and yeast strain chosen to round things out go to battle with a crispiness-delivering bitterness, both leaving tropical fruit aplenty in their wake.
