est.1932 ALFREDSONS JOINERY - PRECUT HOUSE FRAMES
So reads the red sign on the heritage-listed building that houses Noosa Hinterland Brewing Co. In ye olde days, the joinery sat on top of a sawmill and made house frames, doors and windows, roof tresses, and other such building materials. It’s this history that gives Pre-Cut Pale Ale its name.
The American-style pale ale looks like gold bullion in a glass. It starts off with a dry piney hit, then rolls into an assertive and drawn-out citrus peel bitterness. The malt holds its own (both in terms of body and flavour) and helps the hops do their thing, while remaining firmly in balance.
Pre-Cut is more popular than any other beer at NHBCo (including the easy-drinking Cooran Crusher), which tells you the locals - and everyone else - appreciate it for what it is.
