Over the years, we've seen beer festivals and events take place in some unlikely and iconic places: thousands packing into Pentridge Prison, for example, or a famous American brewer co-hosting a moving degustation on Puffing Billy.
And now Sydney's renowned Taronga Zoo is getting in on the act as more than 20 local and international brewers rock up to the Taronga Centre for the first Zoo Brew Festival.
Zoo Brew festivalgoers will taste beers and ciders from the likes of BentSpoke Brewing Co, The Australian Brewery, Two Birds and Scharer’s Little Brewery alongside gourmet food from the likes of Bamboo Dumplings and The Shuck Truck.
The three-day festival launches with a special beer degustation dinner on Friday, July 21, followed by two festival sessions each day on the Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets to all events are on sale right now and a portion of proceeds will support Taronga Conservation Society Australia’s wildlife conservation activities.
They cost $40 plus BF ($20 for designated drivers) and include access to the festival zone, a glass tasting cup and ten sampling tickets. Seats at the Degustation Dinner are $150pp.
When: July 21 to 23, 2017
Sessions: Saturday and Sunday 11.30am to 3.30pm & 4pm to 8pm.
