Oysters² - Sailors Grave and Wapengo Rocks At The Local Taphouse (VIC)

Sailors Grave's oyster (and more besides) stout Law of the Tongue takes its inspiration from a local Gippsland legend.

Old Tom was an orca who used to alert a whaling family on the Sapphire Coast hunting baleen whales off the coast and lead them to their prey. In return, the orcas were allowed to eat their favourite bits – the lips and tongues – leaving the rest to the Davidsons.

And, while there's no whale, orca or tongue in the beer, there are molluscs in the shape of smoked Wapengo Rocks Organic Oysters, plus sunrise limes for good measure.

If you want to try Law of the Tongue alongside the oysters of the ilk that were thrown into it, St Kilda's Local Taphouse will be serving both on July 7 from midday.

Plus, for the entire month of July, you'll also find the Taphouse pouring countless dark beers as part of its annual Darkside of The Local. The full list of those beers can be found here.
