Buy A Bale Karma Kegs At The Monkey Bar (NSW)

Dubbo craft beer venue The Monkey Bar is throwing its support behind drought hit local farmers.

With the support of Temple Brewing, Hope Brewhouse and a farmer from Nowra, they're putting on a Karma Keg event on August 31 to raise money for the Buy A Bale campaign.

Says co-owner Tim Smith: "This is a cause that is very close to our hearts, with the bar located in what is the hub of the Central West of NSW.

"We are exposed to the issue of drought on a day to day basis and witnessing and connecting with people who have been affected sheds light on just how bad the conditions are out here.

"We've timed the kegs to coincide with a delivery to town from Leanne Oldfield, a farmer from Nowra, who, off her own back, is raising funds to buy stock which she will then tow to Dubbo (from Nowra) where it will be distributed to farmers in need."

The Karma Keg event kicks off on Friday night and Leanne arrives on Sunday, which they hope will make for "a huge weekend of fundraising efforts".

All takings from the kegs will be donated straight to Buy a Bale of Hay - Making a difference to Australian Farming Families. If you can't be there, they're also taking donations over the phone at the venue or you can donate online
