For years, the shortest and coldest days of the year also bring with them the darkest of beers and for millennia, the Winter Solstice has been a time of ritual and celebration.
Dark Mass is 3 Ravens' celebration of feasting, dark beer and the dark arts that will all be brought together under the Thornbury brewery's roof.
In total, 13 different dark beers will be on tap and in recognition of how tough Melbourne's winter can be for some, one dollar of every beer sold during the event will be donated to Melbourne City Mission's Homelessness Services.
The day will also feature a midwinter feast by CookShop Rotisserie, dark art, dark poetry, dark music and the official launch of 3 Ravens' 14.2% Barrel Aged Imperial Milk Stout 440ml cans.
A ticketed masterclass that includes a brewery tour, dark beer tasting and food from CookShop will also be held on the day. Tickets cost $70pp, can and be purchased here.
