Breweries only have one chance to celebrate their thousandth brew so it's no surprise when someone chooses to do it in style.
For Yarra Valley operation Hargreaves Hill, that style sees them taking their already rather rich Russian Imperial Stout and ageing it in VSOP brandy barrels while adding vanilla and cinnamon.
Bottles of Brew 1000 are being released on July 19 but, before then, Moorabbin's Grape & Grain have got their hands on one of only two kegs.
They'll be tapping the beer at 5pm sharp and pouring it alongside the two most recent vintages of the R.I.S.
The only other keg will be tapped at Sydney's Bucket Boys on July 26.
