Frenchies Oktoberfeast 2019 (NSW)

You might not have guessed it from their name, but Frenchies make German style beers too. And, if you'd like to check them out for yourself, there's no better time than at Frenchies Oktoberfeast.

On Saturday, October 19, the entire Cannery precinct in Rosebery is being taken over for the event, a day of German-inspired revelry with not a plastic cup or tinnie of mainstream swill to be seen.

Frenchies brewer Vince De Soyres is half German and studied brewing in Germany, giving the brewery the know-how to bring an authentic experience to the festival.

Expect a number of beer styles, all brewed fresh for the festival with German hops. Entry to the festival includes a one litre Frenchies stein for you to keep.

The food is directly inspired by the original Munich Oktoberfest, meaning you can expect the likes of Hendls (chicken on a spit), Pretzels, Bratwurst, Weisswurst, Sauerkraut, Spätzle, pork belly, Apfelstrudel, and gingerbread heart.

MC Skinny will be entertaining adults with games such as a nail hammering competition, beer pong, and a beer stein race.

For the kids, there'll be designated children's areas with nannies to look after them, activities including face-painting, balloon twisting, and a firefighters show, plus there are "Find Me" wristbands for each child.

To make the whole thing easy to get to, there will be free buses from and to Green Square Station – no cab required, and definitely no drink driving.

Prost! Santé! Cheers!
