It's fair to say that since Pirate Life set sail five years ago, it's been an epic voyage.
Giant cans and even bigger beers made them indie darlings. Success made them a target for acquisition.
And with more resources came wild possibilities, like a venue that could host thousands of people or brewing special beers for the genteel members at the MCG.
So, to celebrate their fifth birthday, they're going big. As in, a genuine block party with a 20 metre bar and 24 taps – ten of which will be pouring new beers made for the event – food trucks galore, skating, arcade rooms and music all day – with rock legends You Am I as the headline musical act.
It's happening on Saturday, March 7, and they'd like to extend the invitation to you and about 4,000 other well-wishers to come and partake in revelry at their vast Port Adelaide home. Doors open at midday.
