How good is water?! Swimming, brewing, flushing, living – all great things you can do with the wet stuff. Unfortunately there are heaps of people who don't have access to clean water, which puts them in a bit of a bind and puts a bit of pressure on those of us who live in the fortunate column to do something to improve the lot of the others.
Brewgooder is aimed at doing just that, and doing it through beer.
Building on past success, this year the global event is setting out to set 100,000 people up with clean water; think well construction and water mapping in Africa and you're on the right track.
Amongst the 350 or so breweries taking part in Brewgooder's Global Gathering in 2020, there are 18 Aussie breweries getting involved, including by creating one-off beers. Modus Operandi is one of them and, in addition to the Helles Lager they've concocted for the occasion, they'll be pouring as many of the other breweries' beers as they can for a Brewgooder tap takeover. The lineup to date is as follows:
- Lost Palms
- All Inn Brewing
- Semi Pro
- Sea Legs with Rocky Ridge
- One Drop
If you'd like to join them for a water-focused beer – or for the fundraising raffles – head to the Mona Vale brewery from midday on Friday, March 20.
Can't make it? You don't have to be there in person to donate – just head to the fundraising page and click through a few dollars.
