It just wouldn't be Halloween without some high quality yet highly tenuous puns, and Newstead are getting in on the act with Char-Spookery.
On October 31, they're inviting you to creep into their haunted brewery on Old Castlemaine for a spooky journey of the senses, by way of beer, food and film.
A ticket gets your four pots of these big and (not too) scary beers from fellow Aussie brewers:
- KAIJU! Betelgeuse double red ale
- Brewtal Brewers Grand Orbiter American IPA
- Catchment Brewing Drunken Pumpkin brewed with butternut pumpkin, roasted with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla
- Happy Valley x Brewtal Brewers Cosmic Tomb milk stout with honey and pistachio nuts
They'll be paired with frightfully good charcuterie while they show classic silent horror films on the big screen accompanied by a slightly ominous live string music performance.
And if you make the effort to dress up in your Halloween best you'll be in the running to win one of four $100 Newstead vouchers.
Tickets cost just $45pp and you can book a table through the brewery's website here or by contacting them direct on (07) 3367 0490 or at
