It can get a bit tricky trekking around tracking down the bounty of wonderful fresh hop beers that this time of year brings. To make things easier, get along to the Fresh Harvest Beer Festival and try a whole bunch of them in one place!
Held at Frenchies Bistro & Brewery in Rosebery on May 20, the event will see nine South Sydney breweries come together to pour beer they've made with fresh hops plucked straight from the fields and dispatched to fermenters post haste. The resulting beers only exist once a year and once they're gone, they're gone.
The brewers contributing to this year's proceedings are 2Halfs, Beer Fontaine, Bracket Brewing, Rocks Brewing, Slow Lane, One Drop, Bondi Brewing, The Social Brewers, plus the hosts from Frenchies.
For food, the bistro team will be making a departure from their normal French fare to prepare a special menu with their take on beer-friendly classics including burgers, hot dogs and fries.
Tickets are just $20 + booking fee. Ticket holders will be automatically entered into a raffle to win beer and merch prizes.
The event runs from midday til 10pm.
