Melbourne's southeast is now home to a cluster of top quality breweries, and one of the best ways to enjoy them is at South East Beer.
It's the massive street party hosted by Bad Shepherd around their brewpub in Cheltenham, and features not just a lineup of the area's brewers, but heaps of entertainment and masterclasses too.
The 2023 event takes place on May 27, the closing Saturday of Good Beer Week, and features more than 80 different craft beers from eight of the best breweries in the southeastern suburbs, including:

- Stomping Ground
- Banks Brewing
- Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers
- Braeside Brewing Co
- TWØBAYS Brewing Co
- KAIJU!
The hosts will be launching a special beer that's been in the works for more than 36 months along with several limited-edition single keg brews.
There's also live music from local artists Emile Battour, The Fretslider, and CJ Commerford & The Supertone (6 – 8PM) plus American BBQ from the brewery restaurant, nibbles and treats from pop-up food stalls, food trucks, barbecue masterclasses at 2pm and 4pm (which need to be booked), plus free brewery tours throughout the day.
It's dog- and family-friendly with lawn games, competitions, giveaways and spot prizes.
Tickets start from just $19.99pp with under 18s free. And a percentage of all ticket sales will be donated to MS Australia.
