Beer or wine? Why not both, and more, as you join Akasha and legendary Mudgee winery Robert Stein at the table for a unique dinner celebrating the combined fruits of a lot of labour in the grape and grain departments.
On June 22 the Akasha Barrel Room will be hosting a special four-course banquet and equally special selection of Akasha x Robert Stein collaboration beers and fine wines – including a very special barrel aged beer.
You'll be guided through the evening by Akasha founder Dave Padden and Chief Winemaker Jacob Stein, two more than capable hosts who'll be sharing a few tales and telling you everything you could possibly want to know about beer and wine.
Here's a little rundown of the menu to whet your appetite...
- First Course: Crostini, roast beetroot and fennel puree with feta and mint paired with Akasha Chardonnay Barrel Aged Sour Blonde Ale
- Second Course: Saison black truffle & squid ink salami, Akasha house pate, Woodside baked Jersey brie, Vannella burrata and flat bread paired with Akasha Mudgee Grape Pale Ale & Robert Stein wine
- Third Course: Prosciutto, eggplant & parmesan calzone, gorgonzola, pear and walnut pizza, roast tomato salad w/ buffalo mozzarella and balsamic reduction, maple & mustard mesclun salad, house pickled vegetables, smokey paprika chat potatoes w/ black pepper & lime mayonnaise paired with Akasha Shiraz Sour & Robert Stein wine.
- Fourth Course: Aeschlenberg 1655 Gruyere, Tarago River Gippsland blue, King Island Surprise Bay cheddar, Adelaide Hills triple brie with Dried Apricots, candied walnuts, Cuttaway fig jam, Cuttaway strawberry jam, Leatherwood honey, & lavosh paired with Akasha Shiraz Doppelbock.
