Green dragon. Elixir of life. Ender of nights. Chartreuse has certainly carved out a unique place in the booze spectrum, and it's about to invade another because Bright Brewery and Carwyn Cellars have teamed up on a beastly new series of barrel-aged beers.
Called Le Monstres Du Chateau [sic], the project has been designed to showcase the very distinct differences – the "true expression", as they prefer to say – that come from ageing the same base beer in very distinct barrels.
The first two releases – a Chartreuse Barrel Aged Imperial Stout and Rum & Banana Brandy Blend Barrel Aged Imperial Stout – will receive their official launch on October 21 at Carwyn Cellars.
You can expect a Bright Brewery beer showcase, giveaways, guided tastings from the Bright crew, and – as if you needed further temptation – Chartreuse boilermakers.
