For the third year running, Blackhearts & Sparrows have teamed up with CoConspirators to create a special beer celebrating the many amazing women working in and around the beer industry.
The 2024 version of The Brewer will get its release on March 8 – International Women's Day – at CoConspirators' Brunswick brewpub, with an open celebration and lineup of inspiring speakers.
Your MC for the event will be Blackhearts’ beer buyer, Cherry Murphy, who'll be inviting women from across the drinks industry to come and chat about the direction things are going, or could be going.
The lineup will include:
- Jacqui Sacco – Co-director of CoConspirators and co-Vice President of Pink Boots Society Australia
- Sarah Turner – President of Pink Boots Society Australia
- Jayne Lewis – Full Colour Life founder and co-founder of Two Birds Brewing
- Andi Ross – Island Gin founder and head distiller
As for the new beer, this year it's a homage to a classic ESB and they'll be serving it up two ways, on tap and on hand pump, for one night only. Basil & Oregano Pizzeria – another local and woman-led business – will be popping up inside the brewery and slinging their wood-fired pizzas all nigh too.
