Frenchies OktoberFEAST

The Frenchies are going German as they prepare to celebrate Oktoberfest the only way they know: with traditional beers and authentic food.

Their annual Oktoberfeast will take place on September 28 in and around the Alexandria brewery, with guests in The Cannery able to enjoy the festival vibes under the fluttering blue and white flags of Bavaria.

The beer lineup will be led by a trio brewed especially for the day, featuring a Kellerbier, Hefeweizen (a collaboration with Sydney Brewery), and a classic Festbier. They'll have plenty of other beers pouring too, plus something a little more fulsome in the form of this year’s Brewer’s Got Talent home brew competition winner, a Black Forest Cake imperial pastry stout.

As ever, the food menu will be going to the next level and will be likely be far better than what you'd get in Munich, with crispy skin pork knuckle drizzled in beer gravy, oh-so-soft pretzels, cheese and potato croquettes, and wursts of weisswurst, bratwurst and currywurst varieties, all paired with white wine sauerkraut.

Beyond the table they'll be holding heaps of games throughout the day, with a focus on traditional stuff like tug of war, nail hammering, and a beer glass holding challenge (pictured above) where you have to hold a stein in front of you for as long as you can (but at least it's not full of delicious beer; that'd just be torture). And for those who like to dress up for the occasion, there'll be a Best Oktoberfeast Outfit competition so don your best dirndl or lederhosen.

Tickets are just $25 which includes a branded stein glass. Book your spot here.
