While they won't be hosting anything close to the millions who pass through the Theresienwiese each year, the crew at Dainton Brewing are approaching this year's Oktoberfest as if it's going to be their biggest to date. And given they've got all the ingredients in place (including it being the day before a public holiday), who are we to argue?
This year's festivities will take place on September 27 at both their Carrum Downs and Croydon homes and will feature classic beers, the launch of a new beer*, the drinking of beer from large steins, brewery tours so you can see where the beer is made, beer-drinking music from a live oompah band, a bouncy castle** to keep the kids busy while you drink beer, special German food platters to enjoy and match with the beer, and a Steiny Strongman Competition for when you're full of beer and feeling at your most powerful.
And for a nice perk that keeps Okotoberfest going, anyone who buys a stein will get 10% off their refills for the whole of October.
Entry to both venues is free.
*The new beer is the most un-German but so-Dainton Darklord imperial stout.
**The bouncy castle will be at Carrum Downs only.
