It's been a year since The Great Artist Market first burst forth from the Felons Barrel Hall and became a bustling marketplace for some of Brisbane's finest artists, makers and creative talent. That paved the way for further markets, but to celebrate the one year anniversary they're going bigger.
On October 19 they're hosting a special Spring edition that will see more than 70 different artists and makers setting up in the Barrel Hall – and sprawling out onto the Rivergarden lawn – to showcase their locally produced, small scale wares. Expect a treasury of one-of-a-kind stuff, including art and illustrations, clothing, ceramics, glassworks, homewares, jewellery, florals, records, food, drink and much, much more.
As has become tradition, the earlier hours of the market will offer free activities for the little ones (and big ones...), with face painting, roving performers, balloon twisting, the ever-popular ‘Paste Up!’ workshops, and Bad Pet Portraits who'll create masterpieces of your furry friends.
They'll also have Jet Black Cat Music spinning feel-good vinyl sets, artist-run workshops on the day, fresh baked treats, specialty coffee, and of course Felons' barrel aged beers will be on offer.
The market runs from 8am til 3pm and entry is free.
