There was tremendous news earlier this year when The Mill Brewery announced they were taking the reins of Collingwood's grand old Bendigo Hotel to become Melbourne's (arguably Australia's) de facto home of craft beer and metal music.
A few months on, things are rolling nicely as we head towards a hopefully busy summer and they prepare to host Full Goon Fest, a day of top live bands and high quality booze.
Taking place on November 16 at The Bendi, the lineup features the return of local party punk band Keggin after a three year hiatus, as well as vintage rock, punk and alternative artists including Rattleback, The Pingers, Westall 66, Dental Plan, Murderballs, Dole Cheque, RQTBL, The Trepids, Dick Pistol, and LOV3SICK.
For something extra special to sip on while you rock out, the festival will also see the launch of a new collaborative beer between The Mill and natty wine stars Doom Juice: the Rouge Red Raspberry & Cherry Sour. The beer/wine hybrid will be pouring on tap alongside the classic Doom Juice Rouge, plus it'll be available in package to take home from the venue (and online).
The venue will be open from midday and attending the collab is completely free. Tickets for the live music goodness cost just $30 online, or $40 at the door, with bands kicking off at 2pm and playing through 'til midnight.
