It's time for the final dark beer event of the tasting year at Chapel St Cellars.
And it's a cracker: great beers and equally awesome whiskies. With a little barrel action too.
According to your co-host for the night, Rob Burness: "Beer and whisky have been historically intertwined, and not just on account of their base ingredients. Barrel-aging was once as commonplace for ales and lagers as it has beenâ?¦and still isâ?¦for Bourbon, Rye or Scotch, and today many craft brewers are revisiting this practice, with many utilising barrels that once held whiskey.
"So join us as director of all things educational, Joanne, showcases some amazing, big, dark beers that have been aged in whisky barrels. These will be tasted alongside either the corresponding whisky or an example of the style of whisky used to age the beer. There will be nibbles as well."
