Having trained as a brewer in the heart of Europe and brought a pretzel-making Austrian back to Beechworth when he returned, Ben Kraus and his [Bridge Road](/beer/brewery/bridge-road/) team know how to throw an Oktoberfest.
The weekend long event always sells out, offering up a mix of German inspired beers, oompah music, traditional German dirndls and lederhosen and Maria's awesome pretzels too.
The brewers created a Marzen, or Oktoberfest beer, more than two months ahead of the event, giving it plenty of time to age or 'lager' in tank for a prolonged period, resulting in a smooth malty lager, perfect for such a celebration.
The Oktoberfest runs from 11am to 7pm both days and anyone travelling up for the event are advised to secure their tickets before booking accommodation.
All tickets include a beer stein (half litre or full litre), a food voucher, plus a beer voucher for your first fill. If you have a Bridge Road Brewers branded glass you are welcome to bring it and purchase a BYO ticket.
