Good Beer Week Gala Showcase 2015
5pm 13 Mar, 2015 to 9pm 14 Mar, 2015

Beer lovers will be able to sample new brews, meet new brewers and get their hands on the Official 2015 Good Beer Week program when the Gala Showcase returns in March.

The event will see 23 (now 24) Australian breweries showcasing their wares at the event's flash new venue, Fitzroy Town Hall, on March 13 and 14.

Among them will be two-time People's Choice champion Boatrocker (above), who will be offering first tastes of the 2014 Ramjet barrel-aged imperial stout, a new barley wine called Banshee and some new farmhouse beers from their ever-expanding Belgian beers program.

Other breweries showcasing new beers are Ballarat's Red Duck and Melbourne's Exit Brewing, while Feral from WA will have its latest Brewpub release and SA's Swell makes a first appearance. The event will also offer one of the first chances to sample beers from Melbourne's newest brewery, Hawkers, whose beers are due for release just in time for the event, and the tasty range from new Torquay brewery Blackman's.

There are three public sessions:

  • Friday, March 13 from 5pm to 9pm (SOLD OUT)
  • Saturday, March 14, from 12pm to 4pm (STILL TIX LEFT) & 5pm to 9pm (SOLD OUT)

There is also a trade-only session from 2pm on Friday.

As usual, there will be free masterclasses at the public sessions and there will also be food trucks, including Hammer & Tong and Beatbox Kitchen, stationed outside.

Tickets cost $40 in advance or $45 on the door with capacity limited to just 300 people per session. Tickets get attendees 20 beer samples and a voucher for use at the food truck, making the Gala Showcase the best value beer event of its kind.

The Official Good Beer Week program goes live online on March 13 and will be available from official venues and the Gala Showcase from that day too.

You can purchase your tickets to the Gala Showcase from 2pm on February 13.
