The Community Cup is a charity football (of the AFL variety) match between musicians and media to raise money for Reclink. It's held annually in Melbourne and Sydney but this year, its 21st incarnation, it's stopping in Adelaide too.
What's that got to do with beer, you ask? Well, the fine folks at The Wheaty are sponsoring the media team, the Adelaide Anchors and have brewed up the Ink Slinger Stout, a special serum to give the team superhuman athletic abilities. Unfortunately (and don't tell the team) the beer won't be tapped until after the match...
However, it'll be worth the wait. Being a Foreign Extra Stout, we're told it's going to be creamy, roasty, rummy, raisiny and restorative.
The match is played at Norwood Oval on August 16th. Ink Slinger is tapped at The Wheaty for the official after-party, starting 5pm.
