In the months before deciding to launch the Akasha Brewing Company, head brewer Dave Padden admitted to spending a lot of time channeling energy normally reserved for brewing towards mastering the art of American-style slow-cooked and smoked barbecue. While he ran out of time to make anything more of it than a hobby, it's clearly a thing that's close to his heart – and which happens to pair rather well with the kinds of beers he brews.
So the Akasha crew are pretty excited about this Saturday as they've managed to coax local legends of the BBQ pit smoker, Bovine & Swine, into the brewhouse for the day. As such, they'll be rolling up the brewery doors a little early so that you can come in for your fill of twelve hour smoked brisket sandwich along with any of the twelve beers on tap at the bar.
Speaking of twelves, it starts at midday with the food available until 7pm (or, more likely, until it runs out).
