There's no doubt that beer is an art form but the link between beer and "proper" art has been getting closer and closer as the craft beer boom has taken over the world – you only need to glance across a line of bottles, cans or tap badges to see the full colour and splendour of both worlds on display. And while many brewers have close associations with artists, perhaps none have such close affinity as Ontario's Collective Arts Brewing.
Each of their beers features a limited edition artwork on the outside to accompany the artistry used to form what's on the inside. They've even gone so far as to make them Blippar enabled which, in other words, means you can download an app, scan the labels and get access to more cool stuff like songs, videos and more work from the artist.
All of which brings us to the fact that The Wheaty is showcasing several beers from Collective Arts. On Sunday January 15 they'll be tapping seven of the Canadian brewer's beers and if they taste even half as good as they look, it should be rather a treat for the senses:
- Saint of Circumstance Citrus Blonde Ale
- State of mind Session IPA
- Rhyme and Reason XPA
- Ransack the Universe IPA
- Stranger Than Fiction Porter
- Gose
- Papaya Saison
First kegs will be tapped at 4pm.
