So. Hops. Right. Now. That's Pirate Life all right, the South Australia brewery that can't stop winning friends and accolades everywhere its beer turns up. And one of the next places that beer will be appearing is at The Oaks in Sydney as part of a four course beer dinner.
Founder and head brewer "Red" Proudfoot and fellow Pirate Matt Newman will be joint hosts for the evening, telling tales and guiding you through the following pairings, which The Oaks chefs will have prepared especially for the occasion:
- Starter: Beef short rib bites with smoked eggplant + Hopco NZ Pale Ale
- Entrée: Squid ink risotto, smoked Mt Cook salmon and mustard cress + Pale Ale
- Main: Slow braised beef cheek served with burnt leeks, potatoes and bone marrow + IPA
- Dessert: “Beer + Cigars” + Stout
It's a sit down affair so you'll need to make a booking in advance. Tickets cost $75 a piece and can be purchased here.
